Junior Doctors Forum
This departmental forum occurs bimonthly, on Wednesdays between 8-9am just before the teaching.
You are all encouraged to attend, and are free to air your views in this open arena.
It is attended by the College Tutors, and when possible, our Clinical Director and ICU Lead for Training and Amy Bright (taking notes).
A Trust Junior Doctor Forum occurs twice a year, information from WMI.
It is also important to elect a Trainee Lead (TL).
Roles of the TL will include:
- Be a point of contact for other trainees to share views/bring matters to the attention of the College Tutors
- Getting information from other trainees as to lists they would like to be assigned to when in General Module (in order to boost logbook numbers etc), and then working with the rota coordinator (Dr Sinha) in assigning trainees to relevant lists on a weekly basis
- Highlight any problems experienced by trainees early so that we can help to resolve them quickly.
TL will be a valuable role, aimed primarily at ST5-7 that can help you with non-clinical management skills and leadership. Roles such as this are reflected well in your CVs, and will undoubtedly be looked upon favourably when you apply for Consultant jobs.
The current trainee representatives are:
