Regional Anaesthetic Teaching

The Stoke School organises the regional anaesthetic teaching which are:

  • Basic Anaesthesia Course (for novice anaesthetists)
  • Primary and Final FRCA courses

Attendance is compulsory – Only those who are on-call/post-call are exempted from these day release courses.

Core Trainees who have completed their primary FRCA are encouraged to attend the final FRCA course.

Regional teaching is organised for post-fellowship trainees (between the 3 Schools of Anaesthesia).

In addition, for Stoke School Trainees, a mandatory ‘Leadership and Management for Registrars’ course is arranged at UHNM.

A similar course can also be done at Keele University over a week, however several modules that are not covered at this course still need to be completed at UHNM.
